Ryan,

I get them too.

It all started when I asked Morebeer to be a sponsor the Upper Mississippi Mashout competition back in... how many years have we done the event??

Anyway, they ignored my request(s) to be a sponsor (thanks), but then added me to their SPAM list (jerks).  I'm guessing you wrote to them, or asked for info or a catalog sometime, and have been plagued ever since.

I just filter them now to the "Al Boyce" folder, works like a charm.  just kidding Al

Subject: brewing / tasting Spam direct to email

Maybe I'm just sensitive to homebrewing and local beer and wine tasting
SPAM, but did anybody else get this same from "MoreWine" / "MoreBeer"?

Recently I've also received a couple of local wine tasting (from a local
diner theater) spam that's coming directly to my email account and not
through the list.

It took 3 requests to get the dinner theater to stop sending dinner
promotions.

I have a funny feeling that our email addresses have been sold (not by
anybody of authority in the MhBA.) :)

Thoughts on this?

Ryan

Many of us are finding ourselves in the midst of spring bottling. With
that in mind, here are a few friendly *tips & tricks* for you.

# Sanitation is the key to successful bottling, like much of the rest of
the winemaking process. At MoreWine!, we prefer FiveStar Products'
StarSan <http://morewinemaking.com/view_product/16023/> for all of our
sanitizing. StarSan is fast, odorless, colorless and requires no
rinsing. What else could you want in a sanitizer!? Use at a rate of 1oz
of concentrate per 5gal of water.
# Here at MoreWine! we offer a wide range of *Corks*
<http://morewinemaking.com/search/103300>. Did you know that the long
held practice of soaking your corks ahead of bottling is no longer
necessary? Today's cork manufacturers, in conjunction with responsible
suppliers, have developed systems for keeping corks at the ideal
humidity all the way in to your bottles. In fact, soaking your corks
long term can promote the development of the compound responsible for
"Cork Taint." However, a quick dunk in sanitizer can make it easier for
the cork to go into the bottle.
# Once you're done corking, don't forget to leave your bottles upright for
3 days to allow the corks to re-expand and seal against the wall of the
bottle. Note that synthetic corks do not need this delay.

Finally, don't forget that bottling is the most social part of the
winemakng process. So gather up the friends and family to help you get
through the day. Remember that most of them are only too ready to work
for a glass or two of wine!
