In case you haven't seen the results from Byggvir's Big Beer Cup that was judged at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this past weekend:  www.rennfestbeercup.com/2008-winners
 
We had a little over 100 entries, including 7 historic entries.  Congratulations to Jonathan Crist for winning "Best Historic". 
 
Best of Show was Daniel Wolf's Kolsch.  (Daniel sent his entries from Virginia!)
 
First Runner-up was Chris Smith's Weizen/Weissbier. 
 
Second Runner-up was William Schmiedlin from Jack of All Brews with a group brewed Extra Special/Strong Bitter.
 
Thanks to the Best of Show judges: Kris England, Mike Miziorko, and Joel Stitzel.
 
We had over 45 people helping out with the contest on site at the Fest over this holiday weekend.  I appreciate everyone's help.  Thank you.
 
I want to also thank Eric Swann, Mark and Kami Johnson, Joel Stitzel, and Jonathan Crist for getting up on stage and giving brewing demonstrations.  We had two demos a day over the three-day weekend!
 
I also want to thank Midwest Supplies for the generous donation of ingredients for the demonstrations and also for the $50 prize for BOS.  Big thanks also to Northern Brewer and Still H2O for their donations of gift certificates.  We appreciate the support!
 
Most importantly, I want to thank Deb at the Renaissance Festival for allowing us this opportunity.
