There is some good information, but it's a more basic book than I expected. I guess that makes sense. He would have to assume that most of his readers had never made a mead before. If you've done a couple, get ready for a lot of skimming. I was glad to see that he gave a plug to Chris Hadden's excellent mead site. I was a bit underwhelmed. Lot's of great info, to be sure, and the best mead book I've seen, but it still lacks some detail, I think. For example, please correct me if I'm wrong, I read it quickly, but I don't think I saw any mention of creating a sparkling mead. The book seems to take the relax-don't-worry tack more than a hard technical approach. Flame away. ;-)
