Yes I have. I have a keg that I only use for root beer, because the
flavor gets into all of the gaskets, and a tap only used for root beer.
I've made surgar free too using equal or a couple of other sugar
substitutes.
Make sure you absorbe all of the surgar in hot water before adding it
to the get. I once mixed in in the keg and pluged up the dip tube.
Force carbonated root beer is far better than any I tried making with
yeast in bottles, and safer because you risk the exploding bottles.

Just curious if any of you have carbonated root beer
in a keg for
your kids. My 5-year-old son (Jake) and I put the sugar, water, and
root beer concentrate in the keg last night. I'm picking up more CO2
today.
Any idea how long I should charge it so we have enough
carbonation--but not too much?
Thanks!
