You can hang your neon sign anywhere you want

Neon lights, depending on the colors, are affected by the cold but they will still work and not be damaged.

Red, Yellow, Pink tubes are filled with neon gas and will be minimally affected by the cold.

Blue, Yellow, Green tubes are filled with argon gas with a small amount of mercury. Similar to fluorescent lights at near freezing temperatures the mercury doesn’t want to vaporize and will not fully illuminate until it warms up.

So exposure to the changing temperatures will not harm the neon light but it may affect how it warms up to full illumination.

I've recently purchased the small neon Summit sign and was planning to hang it in the garage with my other beer signs. This is first neon sign I've purchased. A buddy has warned me against hanging it in the garage as during the winter the garage is only heated via the gas furnace when I am out there working on something. Can anyone tell me whether or not the sign will be ok in an environment where it will be repeatedly exposed to changes between below freezing temperatures vs the 55 - 65 degrees F when I'm out there?
