Exciting opportunity for motivated, experienced Brewer.  Start up microbrewery on the shores of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, Minnesota.  Voyageur Brewing Company is seeking a Head Brewer.  Great opportunity to work with the world’s freshest water and new state of the art equipment in an adventurous environment.  This distribution brewery and taproom overlooking Lake Superior will initially serve Northern Minnesota and travelers from across the United States with room for growth.

Applicants should have the following:

• Minimum of three years brewery experience and hands-on working knowledge of a production brewery with a 20bbl brew house or larger preferred
• Professional Brewers Certificate or Equivalent Education from an accredited brewing school and/or other beer-related education or equivalent work experience
• Ability to utilize and manage brewery production software
• Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency
• Ability to learn new skills and processes quickly
• Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to speak in front of large groups or tours
• Self motivated attitude and team player

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• All Brewery operations including brewing, fermenting, packaging and draught
• Quality control and standard operating procedures development
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, returning tools, equipment and supplies to their appropriate storage areas after each assignment
• Innovation, style and recipe development in collaboration with the team
• Equipment and building services maintenance
• Brewery expansion management
• Recommends and contributes to strategic plans
• Recruit, train, motivate and manage staff
• Willingness and ability to perform any other ancillary jobs/roles within the brewery
• Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained for efficient and reliable systems
• Vendor and budget management for supplies, ingredients, packaging, etc.
• Attend, work and speak at Beer Festivals representing
• Great passion and enthusiasm for craft beer, brewing, creating recipes, and researching and applying new techniques
