For anyone not going to the AHA National Conference in Baltimore, this
might be a fun alternative!

10th Annual Homebrew Tasting 3571 Mud
River Rd. NW
at the Neighborhood Tavern in Effie
Puposky, MN 56667
(218)
243-2450
The 10th Annual Boreal Brewers Homebrew Club tasting of home fermented
beverages will take place at 5:00 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2005 in the tent
bar of the Neighborhood Tavern in beautiful downtown Effie.
This event is open to the public. Eddie Jeff Cahill, a well known local
folk/blues musician dubbed ³the Bard of Beer,² will be providing musical
interludes for the tasting.
A small cover charge will defray the cost of hall rental, entertainment
and supplies only. It is not for the purchase of any alcoholic beverages,
as all home fermented beers, meads and wines are donated. Local brewers,
vintners, cider and mead makers are encouraged to bring some of their
beverages to share. Six or eight 12 ounce bottles of each beverage are
usually enough to offer a sample for everyone.
The purpose of the tasting is to increase awareness of the fine art of
homebrewing and the many beer styles that exist in the world, by giving
away free samples in an informal setting. The tasting will feature a wide
variety of donated home fermented beverages, including beers, wines and
meads. Past tastings have seen an average of 25 different beverages
contributed for sampling.
The Boreal Brewers Home Brew Club was organized in 1991 by Jerry
Bourbonnais and Steve Benson, long time local homebrewers. The club is a
non-profit educational organization dedicated to the advancement of the
art, science and appreciation of homebrewing by providing a forum for the
exchange of homebrewing products, information and expertise. The club
currently has more than 40 members from all across northern Minnesota.
