Rick Oftel will be transporting entries
down to Iowa for the qualifying round this Friday, April 14. Bring
your entries to Rick's house by Thursday night if you'd like them delivered
FOR FREE, for current club members. It is only a one-bottle competition,
and anyone who qualifies to go on to the finals in Florida in June (1st,
2nd and 3rd place winners in the qualifier), will be notified of their
win in time to re-brew their beer, in case you are low on that entry. !st-3rd
places also win points for the MhBA towards HOMEBREW CLUB OF THE YEAR!
If you HAVEN'T entered before, they have a special "NEW ENTRANT"
category where you can enter any style you like.
The entry fee is $8 per entry for AHA
members, $12 for non-members. Rubber-band your check (payable to
the AHA) to one of your entries, along with your entry form.

judge the Midwest Qualifying round for the AHA NHC (National Homebrew Competition).
It is being held in Urbandale, IA (near Des Moines) on April 21-22,
only about 4 hours south down I-35.
Last year we hosted this competition
in St. Paul, and a lot of judges from Iowa came up to help. Let's
return the favor and help them judge this. Be one of the judges who
helps decides which beers go on to represent the Midwest in the final round
of the NHC in Florida in June!
