Hello All,
This is just a reminder that the MHbA club library is available for all members.  We have a great selection of books available including "Brew like a Monk" by Stan Hieronymus, this years Upper Mississippi Mashout guest speaker.  I had the pleasure of judging with Stan on the Belgian Specialty category, and let me tell you this man knows his beer!  His book is very good if you are interested in brewing Belgian style ales.  The historical background on the subject is second to none and the length of descriptions of the brewing processes is quite involved.  I found the style of writing to be detailed, but not overly technical, and best of all it was easy to read and very enjoyable.

The library also has a counter pressure bottle filler available for check out.  There are a few competitions down the road (.. check out the latest issue of the Boiler), so if your holding back on putting entries in because you don't have the equipment, you no longer have an excuse!

Speaking of contests, Al Boyce will be driving down to the KCBM competition next Friday.  If you have entries for this competition bring them to Saturdays meeting at the Herkimer and I will get them to Al before he leaves.  Check out:  http://www.kcbiermeisters.org/Competition2008.htm for competition details.

Cheers,
Jon Messier
