This is a pretty interesting amber ale. Doesn't look too pretty- has a nice big head,
but the color is closer to a golden copper then anything that could be described as
"red" or "amber." Aroma is quite pronounced and very, very malty.
Nice, but almost too much. Taste is similar- huge malt presence followed by some hops
breaking through in the end. As the bottle says, a real "biscuit" flavor is
apparent and there are also a few alcohol notes which show up in the finish. Pretty
drinkable, although the maltiness gets to be a bit much. The bottle claims that this
beer's "balance" is its strong point. I wouldn't agree, but I kind of
like this one anyway. Worth trying.

Subject: Mystery Beer
A friend of mine just got back from a business trip to Denver. One of his
collegues was looking for a beer called "Fat Tire". My friend told this person
that he could probably get it for her in MPLS. He Tried Blue Max and Surdyks without
success. Any of you beer detectives out there ever see this one? I don't have any
info on brewery or even style. My guess is that it was discontinued.
