I spoke with someone at the fair about beer judging (I have his name in my calendar) - they're thinking about doing that next year.  I told him we had certified judges in our club who would be glad to help out.  I'm planning on giving him a call about it in the winter to get the ball rolling.

While I was at the State Fair I noticed a small sign near the wine display. Len Jax is selling Minnesota grown Frontenac grapes for $1.00 a pound. Apparently this year's crop is quite good and capable of making some above average wine. (something like a Merlot) If you buy, tell them Tom Matell sent you.

Why doesn't the MHBA get some beer judging at the State Fair?
