Okay Cider Fans, Here is the scoop. To avoid Hoppy Halloween & allow for
first frost ...
Apple pressing is Saturday, October 30th, at Webber's Apple Orchard (just
south of Prior Lake). I will be there beginning at 9am and will probably
look to be done (including clean up) by about 4pm. Here is your
opportunity to pick up apples, grind them into pulp, press the juices out
of them, and eventually drink your creation. As usual, I will provide a
press, wash tubs, etc. Just bring yourselves, some containers for the
juice, and a couple bucks per gallon for the orchard.
Apple Cider buy will be from Minnesota Harvest in Jordan. I will pick it
up and drop it off the first MhBA meeting in November (as soon as that is
settled). Let me know how much you are looking for. In the past, it has
been $2.90 per gallon. Non pasteurized. Usually frozen to avoid premature
fermentation.
I need to check with MN Harvest, but I do not expect a price increase this
year.
