As some may remember, I blathered on at length last fall about all MN brewers entering the
national contest under the club name of Minnesota Homebrewers Association. The plan was
to band together in an attempt to fell the mighty QUAFF, the San Diego-based organization
that has won AHA Club of the Year four years running. I had asked for people to pledge
not only to brew copiously, but also to consider entering under MHBA, regardless of club
affiliation.
Since that time, some members of non-MHBA clubs have given strong consideration to
entering under their respective club names, which means that you can now enter AHA
Nationals under any ol' club name you wish--without feeling the slightest twinge of
guilt for not assisting the greater good!
Thank you to all those who were willing to cast their lot with the likes of the MHBA this
year, much like MHBA members did last year, when many MHBA members entered Nationals under
the Saint Paul name. It just is not to be this year, and so please enter under whichever
club you feel represents you best.
And remember--MHBA is already four points ahead of QUAFF, and the entries haven't
even arrived yet! So brew, brew, brew, and enter, enter, enter!
Thanks,
John
