__._,_.___Hoppy Halloween � The 10th Anniversary Event!!!
Wow, 10 years have certainly flown by fast! It seems like only yesterday
that we just started putting this competition together for the first time.
From its humble beginnings, the Hoppy Halloween Challenge has grown bigger
and better every year and this year will be no exception. Help us celebrate
10 Years of Ghoulish Beers by entering and / or attending the festivities!
In keeping with the seasonal theme of Halloween, entries will be accepted
from October 1st to October 13th (Scary! Are you scared yet?). To make
entering the Hoppy Halloween Challenge as easy as possible, we have on-line
registration again this year.

HOPPY HAPPOWEEN EVENTS SCHEDULE
All Hoppy Halloween events will take place at the Mainstay Hotel and Suites,
the official home of this year�s competition. Visitors should be able to
secure rooms here or at the Sleep Inn, which is part of this lodging
complex.

Friday, October 26th
5 pm � light meal for all judges and stewards
6 p m � Judging begins
8:30 pm � Live Judging of Halloween Theme Beers
This is a very entertaining event as some very interesting Theme Beers have
come from this competition. Following the judging, we will have a relaxing
time visiting �til we pass out as we have a meeting room reserved late into
the night or into the wee hours of the morning!
Saturday, October 27th
8 am � light breakfast for judges and stewards
9 am � judging begins
11:30 am -12:30 pm - lunch on your own � there are many local establishments
nearby � We will be taking the Guest Speaker to lunch at Granite City.
1 pm � 2nd flight of judging if necessary or BOS
3 pm - BOS judging if not already done.
6:30 pm (or 7 pm) � Banquet � buffet style � main entr�e marinated in a
special beer.

Guest Speaker � Gary Glass, Dire ctor of the American Homebrewers
Awards will be presented to the Hoppy Halloween winners immediately
following the banquet and Gary�s talk. Door prizes also will be given out
during this time.
If you would like to attend the Banquet please secure your reservation by
e-mailing Susan Ruud at: susan.ruud@ndsu.edu . Cost is $30.00 with a $5.00
discount for judges, stewards and assistants.
Commemorative Glass � This year we will have a commemorative glass that will
be given to anyone who judges, stewards, and / or assists with the Hoppy
Halloween Challenge. Banquet attendees also will receive a glass if they
haven�t received one for assisting with the competition.
Special Keg!! - We have purchased a special keg for Friday and Saturday
evening that will be available to anyone who helps with the competition and
/ or attends the Banquet. The beer will be served up complements of the
P rairie Homebrewing Companions and the Hoppy Halloween Competition
Committee. Hmmmm� you just received a commemorative glass. It is empty. Need
