We did think about it a couple of years ago and decided that providing it
MAY indicate that the club is taking on more responsibility than the
officers felt was worthy. We did add the opening statement to each meeting
and assume that our members are responsible for themselves and each other.
The current officers may have a different opinion.
Here's a copy of the statement:
As members of the Minnesota Home Brewers Association, we pledge to drink
responsibly.
As a club that makes beer, alcoholic beverages are a part of our club
activities.
We pledge to be not only responsible for ourselves, but share responsibility
by looking after each other.
As a club, we support this responsibility by ensuring no one drives drunk,
and we will heed each other's advice to stop drinking when necessary.
We pledge this as a club and as friends.
