Not sure about the "elitist" part, but I've been called worse than an
a-hole.
Deservedly, from the person's viewpoint who was doing the verbal assault. No
kidding!
I have respect and admiration for Don. One, he is willing to go on the radio
and talk beer making. And two, he will use microbiological verbage such as
microbial names in his discussion. Onwards, you brave brewer!
Those of us who have the misfortune to claim Microbiology as a
long-term career
and have a proclivity for correct pronunciation, are often flogged and run out
of town. Yet we keep going since we are also prone to stubborness.
SO.... here's a vote for the following pronucitations (syllable emphasis in
CAPS)
LAM - Bih - Cuss
Claus (like Santa) - SEN - eye
Anyone wanting more feedback from this weird, gettin' older and more flatulant
Microbiologist/home brewer/malcontent, please send emails!! I do miss you
guys! Really!! It's hard to get high quality ribbing and abuse here in the
Lone Star state!
Peace,
Steve

Who cares? Make up your own unique and orginal
pronunciations!
If you actually know what you're talking about then you're just an
elitist a-hole. At least that's what I'm told in this best of all
possible beer worlds where all the beer is above average.
Kidding. Maybe.

During the interview, it would be nice to at least appear as though
I know what I'm talking about. Anyone know how to pronounce these?
1. "LAM-ba-cus"
2. "lam-BEEK-us"
any other way to say that?
1. "claw-senn-eye"?
2. "clough-senn-eye"
3. or is the last syllable "eee"?
I know it doesn't really matter and some folks pronounce them
differently anyway, but just thought I'd throw it out there.
If you are interested, here is my log entry so far. I still have
to provide more current tasting notes.
