I can flick the subscribed to post switch if that is what people want.
I do find it hard to believe the only spam showing up in peoples
mailbox is from this one list?
Doesn't everybody have additional filtering at their end point,
is it doing a better job than SpamAssassin?
If it is how does one even notice things are getting by the list
filter?
SpamAssassin as a whole does a very good job of wacking down the
spam but as with any game of give and take the spammers always
get ahead of the filters for a while.
I update SA with the devel branch about once a month,
so that the latest rules for the latest spelling of the
v drug are pulled in.
Hmm ok opps:
I updated SpamAssassin last Sunday... and I forgot to check
the logs to make sure everything was still functioning.
Turns one of the cmd line options was no longer valid, so
SA was failing to run.
Sorry for the extra spam.

I am the manager of a departmental computer support group at the University
and would consider hosting this list if others are amenable. I think
our mail servers have a better spam hit rate than what I am seeing here.
If there is any interest in this please have the appropriate person contact
me.
I'll also volunteer some anti-spam/spam filtering expertise
(it's kind of what I do professionally) if necessary.
Approximately 90% of the spam I still get here is from
mba and another open mailing list.
Of course, closing mba (i.e. accepting posts only from
subscribers) will probably do the most good.
