The Prairie Homebrewing Companions have secured a block of rooms at
the
Howard Johnson Inn
301 3rd Avenue North, Fargo : 701-232-8850. Ask for
the "Homebrewers" block.
The room rate is $78
plus tax/fees which is 10%
off their normal rate. The block will be held
until October 10th so book
your
room before that date to take advantage of this offer. Please note
that
these rooms are in the haunted
wing, hence the exceptional pricing!
Those wishing to reserve a non-haunted
room at a higher rate
should
contact the proprietors as these go exceptionally fast at that time
of
year!
Bloody Macabra Meal
Competition winners will be announced at the
Awards Banquet on Saturday,
October 24th at the
Howard Johnson Inn in
downtown Fargo. Evening festivities feature a social
at 6:00 PM followed by
a
full service dinner served at 6:30 PM. Reservations are required so

spot. The cost is
$27.00
per person. A variety of homebrews will be on tap for the dinner of
"Steak"
or "Rosemary
Chicken". Each entree will be accompanied by a pair of dead
shrimp. The
dinner will also include a
salad, baked potato, Italian bread
and glazed carrots. Any zombies in
attendance may substitute either
of
those items for "Brains Tartar with Whipped Blood Sauce" specially
prepared
for the occasion. Those
interested in this option are urged to
pre-order this meal well in advance
so the freshest ingredients can
be
collected! Price for the substituted meal is $90.
The highlight of the
evening will be a talk by Dave Berg, brewer at August
Schell Brewing
