Club Meeting – Saturday, March 8, 2008 1-4pm
Fifth Annual Chili Cook-Off and Swap Meet
CSPS Hall, 383 Michigan St., St. Paul
Once again, Greg Van De Mark will be organizing the Chili Cook-Off!
There are three categories in which you can enter:
Red Chili – meat, but NO beans
Vegetarian Chili – no meat
Open – meat, beans, green, whatever
We'll be trying something new this year. Instead of having chili judges, we'll have everyone vote on their favorite for each category and then have everyone vote on their favorite overall. The winner of each category gets a prize and the overall winner gets a prize and the honor of bringing home the Chief Chili Pepper trophy!
You can help out by bringing your chili ready to eat in crock pots and bringing along extension cords and serving utensils. Bowls, spoons, and napkins will be provided.
The March meeting also features a swap meet. There are people that may want items you no longer need. You may find items yourself that will help upgrade your brewing operation.
Jonathan Crist and I will be doing a Doctored Beer and Beer Aroma demonstration for the Technical Topic this month. There will be a prize for who is able to identify the most correctly.
Also, elections will be held this month. The current board members (Al Boyce-Vice President; Paul Dienhart-Secretary/Treasurer; and Gera Exire LaTour-President) are willing to run again this year, but new officers are welcome. Let me know if you are interested in running.
Of course we welcome all the home brew you would like to bring to the meeting, especially beers that go well with chili. We even like mead and ciders.
Come to the March meeting! There are lots of fun things to see and do!
Gera Exire LaTour
President, MHBA
