Most web filtering is done by content, mostly. I run the MNBREWERS site and the server it
sits on. I also run the web filtering for the company I work at full time. There
probably won't be an easy way to get around this.

I just played around a little with how my workplace does web filtering. It is done
strictly by name. For example, if I try to go to
www.northernbrewer.com the request is
denied. If I ping that address and learn that the IP is 208.42.68.77 and enter the IP
into a web browser, I get right to their page and am able to browse around. If I try to
go to
www.mnbrewers.com the request is denied. If I ping that address and learn that the
IP is 65.199.118.138 and enter the IP into a web browser I end up getting page not found.
I am not a web expert, but there must be something simple that can be changed by whoever
hosts
mnbrewers.com that would allow it to be accessed by IP number.
Now that may not help at Jim's workplace, as not all web filtering is created
equal. I have just found that it works with the way my work filters web requests.

Jim-
Sounds like a personal problem! (Just kidding....) My work filters
mnbrewers.com from browsing while at work also. Do you have internet
access at home? Can you download it from there?
It might be worth a talk with whoever manages the firewall at your work
too, and see why they filter
MNBREWERS.COM .
I'd rather not have duplicate content on the two sites. Also, the YAHOO
site has come to be a repository of mostly technical information on
brewing, mostly for the BJCP class.
I will send you a copy of the BOILER via email.

Dumb question for any of us who have to deal with firewalls:
Is it possible to put the Boiler out on the Yahoo web site under Files?
Our filewall has no issue with Yahoo but does not like
mnbrewers.com.
Thanks!
