Although he did not place in the AHA Club Only Competition, congratulations to Kurt
Smelser for representing MHBA.
Forty-nine (49) entries were received from twenty-six
(26) states.>
First Place: Matt Sager of Walnut Creek, CA representing D.O.Z.E. with a
Specialty (23a) beer named "Oatmeal Raison Cookie." This truly was like
drinking a rich, liquid oatmeal cookie.
Second Place: Victor Macias of Los Angeles, CA representing Pacific
Gravity with a Specialty (23a) beer named "Millefolia Gruit." What a well
balanced combination of herbs and malt.
Third Place: Bob Love of St. Charles, MO representing Garbage Brewers
Society with a Specialty (23a) beer named "Rasmanian Devil." Jalapeño,
raspberries and malt all came together so well.
