NORTHERN BREWER GRAND OPENING IN WEST ALLIS, WI

Here in Saint Paul, we're all a little
jealous of what's going on in West Allis, Wisconsin. The new store is
getting closer and closer to opening. Grand Opening festivities will be held
over the weekend of November 13 - 15 and promises to be a good time for all.
There will be all-grain brewing demonstrations hosted by NB employees and
featuring Jamil Zainasheff and John Blichmann (on Friday and Saturday,
respectively). The Brewing Network will be broadcasting live on
location. Brian Perkey from Wyeast Laboratories will be talking yeast and
generally hanging out. Award-winning mead-maker (and NB employee) Curt
Stock will be in the house talking mead. There will be door prizes and,
of course, everything in the new store will be on sale all weekend long.

SAINT PAUL BLACK FRIDAY SALE
------------------------------------------------
Get that holiday shopping out of the way early this year! Northern
Brewer will again be having our annual Black Friday Sale on November
27th. WE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS ON THE DAY OF THE
SALE! We will be opening early at 8:30 AM for all you brewers out there
hoping to squeeze in two brew sessions. We will also be closing early at
5 PM. Everything in the store will be discounted by 15%. This is a
one-day-only sale, and rain-checks do not apply.
NATIONAL TEACH A FRIEND TO HOMEBREW DAY
------------------------------------------------
On Saturday, November 7th Northern Brewer will be hosting the Saint Paul Homebrewers Club
as they brew a batch of beer in our back parking lot with their big-batch
system. Anyone is encouraged to come out and hang out for the brew
session, which will be getting started around 10 AM. Award-winning
homebrewers, and members of the SPHBC will be on hand to answer questions with
regards to the all grain brewing process or any other beer related questions
you may have. Feel free to bring samples of your own brews or commercial
beers for tasting. Northern Brewer will be operating normal business
hours - we will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Additionally, Barley John's Brewpub will be hosting the Minnesota Homebrewer's
Association for a hands-on brewing demonstration. Again,
acclaimed homebrewers and members of the MN Homebrewers will be on-hand and
talking beer from 10-2 PM. Barley John's is a fantastic Brew Pub located at
Old Highway 8 and County Road D in New Brighton. If you haven't sampled
any of their tremendous beers, we encourage you to stop by. Northern
Brewer will also be donating brewing equipment as a door prize. Whether
you're just getting started, want to learn a little more, or you just want to
go hang out and talk beer,this is a great chance to enjoy a pint and hang out
for a brew session.
NEW POLARWARE KETTLES
------------------------------------------------
Northern Brewer is excited to carry Polarware's newest addition to their
line of brewing kettles. We will now be offering Polarware's eight gallon
kettle welded with a half-inch ball valve, perfect for a full-volume wort boil
for the five-gallon batch brewer. In addition to this kettle, we'll carry
Polarware's new line of Deluxe Kettles. These kettles will feature
a graduated weldless sight-glass in addition to the welded ball-valve and
thermometer ports that are currently offered on their brew kettles. These
Deluxe kettles will be offered in 10 and 15 gallon sizes. These brand new
kettles are not yet on our website or in our retail location. But we
expect them to be available within a couple of weeks.
NEW BLICHMANN ENGINEERING PRODUCTS
------------------------------------------------
Blichmann Engineering has done it again! Northern Brewer now carries
the newly-released Blichmann AutoSparge. Looking like something out of Tesla's
laboratory, the AutoSparge allows you to maintain a constant level of sparge
water in your Mash Tun by automatically adjusting the flow rate from your Hot
Liquor Tank into your Mash Tun to match the flow rate from your Mash Tun into
your Boil Kettle. So you can just "set it and forget it". Compatible
with gravity-fed systems or with systems designed around pumps--including RIMS
systems--and fits any kettle or cooler that is at least twelve inches in
diameter.
Also check out Blichmann's Brewing Gloves. Elbow-length
protection from scalding and perfect for sanitary applications, you'll wonder
how you ever brewed without them.
