Don't join The Beer Carbohydrate Info List

Everybody: Do not join "The Beer Carbohydrate Info List", if you can avoid it. The list managers are engaging in unethical Internet practices. In short, they are spammers. A week or so ago, I got unsolicited email from them asking if I wanted to join The Beer Carbohydrate Info List. They're actually trying to sell some book. It said that if I did not want to join, I should simply ignore the message, which I did. Now I got a new message thanking me for joining The Beer Carbohydrate Info List. So I made the mistake of clicking on "unsubscribe", and today I find that I am subscribed anew TWICE. I assume that if I unsubscribe each of those unsolicited subscriptions, I will find myself subscribed 4 times, and so on. The only way to deal with spam is to boycott the senders. Whatever you do, don't buy that book they're advertizing! Time for a beer.
