Once again, the MHBA Teach-A-Friend-To-Homebrew Day event was an unqualified success!  Over 30 interested people showed up to join over 30 club members watch brewing demos, enjoy a warm sunny day on the patio, and buy copies of Doug Hoverson’s book, Land of Amber Waters.

Big thanks to Barley John’s Brewpub!  They have hosted this event all four years, and they really bend over backwards for us.

Big thanks to Midwest Supplies, Brew & Grow, and Northern Brewer!  Each donated an equipment kit and ingredient kit to be given to a newbie as a door prize.  The recipients of those prizes were ecstatic, and went home with everything they needed to start brewing immediately.

Big thanks to President Gera Exire LaTour, VP Al Boyce, member Don Harju, and author Doug Hoverson!  Al brought and explained bottling and all-grain equipment, and the other three volunteers demonstrated the art of brewing to the assembled throng.

Big thanks to Chris Smith for delivering all the cider!

And thank you to all the folks who came out.  Without a crowd, it’s just me drinking by myself at Barley John’s.
