Not exactly our style of beer, but it DOES hold a warm place in many Chicago
hearts. FYI.

Subject: "Brewed With Style - The Story of The House Of Heileman"
Greetings Chicago Beer Society,
My name is Paul Koeller and I am the coauthor of a book entitled "Brewed
With Style - The Story of the House of Heileman." This book was published in
late 2004 by the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Foundation. This 288
page hard cover book traces the history of the G. Heileman Brewery in La
Crosse, Wisconsin. It continues all the way up to and including the current
City Brewery in La Crosse. The book has over 100 photos, including 16 pages
of color photos. It also includes a list of over 400 brands that Heileman
sold over the years.
Heileman Old Style beer was a huge favorite in the Chicago area. I'm
assuming that many Chicago beer drinkers would be interested in this book.
Currently the book is not available in major book stores. It is primarily
being sold at City Brewery and other La Crosse area bookstores. I'm looking
for ways to find people in the Chicago area that would be interested in
purchasing a copy of the book. I found your web site and thought many of
your members might be interested in the book. Anything you can do to help
spread the word about our book will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to
forward this email to anyone who might be interested in the book.
Additional information about the book can be obtained at the following web
site:
