I think we're having a slight technical problem here. This was
originally sent over a month ago, and was dealt with then, with the Beer
Carbohydrate folks apologizing for problems getting their own software
to do what they wanted it to, and not do what they didn't want it to.
The question is, why are we seeing these deleted email resurrections? Is
somebody or some inanimate thing reposting very old messages?

Everybody: Do not join "The Beer Carbohydrate

A week or so ago, I got unsolicited email from them asking if I wanted
to join The Beer Carbohydrate Info List. They're actually trying to sell
some book. It said that if I did not want to join, I should simply
ignore the message, which I did. Now I got a new message thanking me for
joining The Beer Carbohydrate Info List. So I made the mistake of
clicking on "unsubscribe", and today I find that I am subscribed anew
TWICE. I assume that if I unsubscribe each of those unsolicited
subscriptions, I will find myself subscribed 4 times, and so on.
The only way to deal with spam is to boycott the senders. Whatever you
do, don't buy that book they're advertizing!
Time for a beer.
