ST. PAUL, MN – (July 11, 2011) – It’s not a party without beer, bands, and a few thousand friends – or so is the thought as Summit Brewing Company announces plans for its 25th Anniversary celebration at its headquarters, 910 Montreal Circle, St. Paul.
The celebration takes place Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 and go on sale Monday, July 25 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased through Summit’s website at www.summitbrewing.com. Fifty percent of all ticket sales will benefit the Minnesota Music Coalition (MMC), a new non-profit that connects and supports Minnesota’s independent musicians.
“We’re celebrating 25 years in business by inviting a few of our friends over to enjoy our beer and some great Minnesota music,” said Mark Stutrud, Summit’s founder and brewmaster. The anniversary event will include the following eclectic performances: Solid Gold, X-Boys, Pert Near Sandstone, Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, and The Prizefighters. Hotpants DJs will also be spinning Rare Soul, Deep Funk vinyl throughout the day, and local radio personality Mark Wheat will be emcee for the event.
In conjunction with its 25th Anniversary, Summit is releasing the limited edition Silver Anniversary Ale. Inspired by Summit’s award-winning and flagship brew Extra Pale Ale (EPA), the Anniversary Ale boosts the EPA’s traditional flavor profile with assertive hop character and a complex finish. The Anniversary Ale will be available the week of July 25 and will also be on tap at the party.
Several special events for the Silver Anniversary Ale will occur during the week of the beer’s release.
