When do you need the mead by? I just bottled my maple mead (aka acer mead),
ginger raspberry melomel, orange blossom traditional, blueberry melomel and
traditional sack. I'm moving and some of these could benefit from subsequent
aging but that can happen in the bottle. I wish I had these ready for the
03UMMO & nationals...
Let us know when the talk will bee. I'd like to attend and also take a tour
of their apiary.
For more information about mead, check out
http://www.aboutmead.com/ and
http://www.gotmead.com/ . As you may already know, Ken Schramm's book, "The
Compleat Meadmaker" is coming out June 1st. More info is available at
http://www.beertown.org/ . The last resource I'd like to point out is the
rec.crafts.meadmaking newsgroup: news://rec.crafts.meadmaking .

Subject: A call for mead!!
Ok guys. As you know I got a buncha honey from the
UMn apiarists and
they asked me to come and talk with them about mead. Mark Glewwe is
also going to go with me. I only have a few homemade meads on hand.
What I need are a buncha different kinds of meads. If you guys can give
up 1 or 2 bottles of each type that you have so that I can give out
samples at the talk. They have also agreed to give us a tour of the bee
facility later this summer. Also lots of these people do their own bee
keeping and have honey running out there you know whats...must be kinda
painful...and most of them will gladly trade mead for a buncha honey.
Anyway, any mead you guys could give would help us all out.
Kris
