Hi Brewers!
What a difference a day makes. Bob had a great day today in Rehab and was able to
walk the entire circumference of the PT dept ( with the help of a quad cane and 1
therapist)! He was fitted for a brace for his R leg to help the knee from hyper-
extending and to support his R foot. That should help considerably with his walking.
Speech is still a big challenge, but he is at least attempting to make sounds and form his
lips. A+ for attitude and determination. Therapy really wipes him out in the afternoon,
and he sleeps until supper. He has started on pureed foods and cleans the old plate as
good as our golden retreiver!! Good appetite and I notice him eye balling the beer
bouquet alot. I am sure he is looking forward to the day he can endulge at least a few
ounces of the tasty brew staring at him. Thanks to whomever brought the porter, stout and
pale ale for Bob. I did not see a name on the bag, but I know it was someone from the
Club. I ran some names past Bob and he smiled, but I still don't know for sure.
Thanks, again. I need to attend a baby shower for the Grandson on Sunday in Illinois, so
if anyone has a chance to pop in to say hi to Bob, I'm sure he would love to see a
familar face. He has 0 therapy on Sunday, so he should be well rested. Feel free to ask
him yes and no questions and talk as much as you like. He is doing so much better with
the appropriateness of his responses, and it is good therapy. Sometimes he answers yes
automatically, but will correct if given a minute and yes is not a correct answer. You
guys are great!! Bob and I thank you for your support and well wishes.
Rene'
