This "Leap Year" Don't Miss The 5th Annual Babble BREW OFF, "Leap Beer" Extravaganza On Saturday, February 23rd!

Dear (Contact First Name),

For homebrewers in Northern Illinois and its surrounding area, a Leap Year such as 2008 means it must be time for Babble Homebrewer's "Leap Beer" extravaganza!  This leap year is no exception as plans are well underway for the "every leap year event".  'Leap Beer", the 5th annual Babble Brew Off event, is the largest competition of its kind in Illinois with last year's event seeing over 250 entries.  This year the event will be held on February 23rd at 9:00AM sharp at  DiCarlo Fine Wine & Spirits located at 425 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL.

An American Homerbrewers Association sanctioned event, "Leap Beer"  brings area homebrewers together before Nationals and other local competitions.  There no better way and no better place this early in the year to celebrate homebrewed ales, lagers, meads and ciders with friends and fellow brewers while at the same time receive valuble feedback as well as have the chance to win great prizes!   Prizes and 1st through 3rd place ribbons will be awarded for "Best of Show" and "Flight" catagories.  (For a list of 2007 "Big Brew" winners click go to Babble Homebrewers website.

Entries will be judged using the 2004 BJCP Style Guidelines. (For a detailed descriptions of beer style descriptions, click on the Beer Judge Certification (BJCP) link in the righ hand column.)   At Babble, we take pride in providing quick turnaround of results.  Over the past four events, awards have been given out the day of the event following the "Best of Show" round.  Results are mailed out the day preceeding the event.
