Hi, Also, a reminder that on Saturday we will do the Master of Malt competition in the afternoon – each club can enter one ale, one lager, one Belgian and one Mead. If anyone has the traveling plaques – please bring them – or get them from someone in you club that won last year if they are not attending. I have the Mead plaque so that one is accounted for.
Thanks,
Susan

The tour starts at 9:00 am with a bus from the campground.
The tour will last between 1 and 2 hours and a bus will bring you back.

There are a limited number of seats…..contact Chris German at cgerman@rahr.com to reserve your seat.
The Shakopee production facility annually produces 370,000 MT (24 million bushels) of malt, making it the largest single site malt producer in the world. The campus consists of five individual malthouses, four Saladin units and one tower. The original malthouse was constructed in 1937 with new houses added in 1954, 1977, 1981 and 1994.
Each malthouse continues to be upgraded with the latest in equipment and process control, assuring complete customer satisfaction. The storage capacity consists of 300 bins with a total storage capacity of 8 million bushels. Our onsite modern laboratory provides analysis for both barley and malt quality using the latest technology including pilot malting.
Our malt production is a perfect blend of art and science – efficient and technologically advanced. The state of the art facility is fully automated with the latest in control technology. Two major North American rail carriers, the Union Pacific and Canadian Pacific, service this site.
The Shakopee site serves as the headquarters for the Rahr Malting Companies.
