I'll let you know - I bought one.  I'll compare it to my dial thermometer and see how it does.  I know Sean Hewitt has a very accurate one - I don't know how much he paid for it.

Thanks for the info - I didn't know Midwest had them!

Hey everyone - never mind!  I'm going to go buy one at Midwest instead.  (NB may have them too - any comment from NB?)

Hey Al,

Just thought I'd let you know, we've got those in at Midwest as well.  Same price!
I picked one up, and it may not be perfect within 0.1°F but it gives a person a good idea.  I just used it to check the temp of a cooling yeast starter this morning!

Cheers!

Pete

Anyone interested in an infra-red thermometer? It would be real handy for brewing!

They are $24.95, plus $7.95 for shipping. But shipping for TEN of them is only $10.87, and only $11.48 for 20 of them.

I'm going to order one. If anyone else wants to go in on it, send me a check for $24.95+ $2 for shipping by next Friday, April 4. I'll order them on Saturday, and I'll distribute them at a future club meeting after I receive them. If I get enough orders to bring the shipping down under $2 each, I'll distribute the savings when I deliver the thermometers.
