A big Shout-Out to John Longballa for magnificent planning and execution of
the event! Good work John!
Also thanks to Mark Glewwe for delivering the club cider buy that day -
something like 170 gallons of cider, right Mark?

Subject: Teach Day Successful!
Thank you to all of you who came out Saturday to make Teach a Friend to
Homebrew Day such a great success! Under beautiful skies, we entertained
15 new brewers with our demonstrations, gave away four complete starter
kits, gave out contact cards so that new brewers can find a club member for
brewing help, brewed five batches of nearly identical Northern English
brown ale (come to the Christmas party to taste what the five different
yeast strains might do to those otherwise-similar worts!), and signed up
new members to the club! Oh yeah--we might have drank some beer, too.
A very big thank you to the main volunteers--Mike Behrendt, Al Boyce, Mike
Moranz, Doug Hoverson, Gera Exire La Tour, and Marc Donnelly. Without
them, it would have been a sad day indeed. Also, thanks goes to Jonathan
Crist and Kris England for bringing materials to encourage memberships in
the local and national clubs.
And of course, big thanks to John Moore at Barley John's for hosting us--
Brew and Grow and Wind River for each donating both equipment and
ingredient kits--
Midwest Homebrew Supplies for donating an equipment kit and helping us with
extract--
and Northern Brewer for donating an equipment kit and all the yeast, hops,
and grains.
Thanks to the above also for helping with the promotion of the event.
Thanks to those who set up, cleaned up, and kept the day moving easily.
Take care,
John
