A few good friends of mine have started a printmaking studio, and have asked me to extend an event invitation to any interested homebrewers. This is scheduled to take place some time in June, so there's still plenty of time to get brewing. The Recess Press Collective would like to invite you to participate in Go Brew Yourself, a collaboration between local Minneapolis printmakers and homebrewers. Our team will create original artwork in the form of traditional prints (relief, screen print, etchings) for bottles, posters, t-shirts, and everything else we can get our inky hands on for each of your home brewed beers. The main event will take place in mid-June. Printmaking and brewing are similar in that they each require patience and creativity, and gear themselves towards a mass-production of a new idea. Go Brew Yourself is an opportunity for us to pool our resources and our skills to support each others productions, and as we all know, art and alcohol have always been best friends. What we need from you at this point is: 1. a confirmation that you'll be submitting your brew to our project 2. name of your beer 3. a description of the taste/personality of your beer for us to begin brainstorming imagery We would like to begin creating the artwork as soon as we have 6-12 brewers confirmed, so that by June we will have the printed material ready to go. The final event will take place outdoors in South Minneapolis. Please respond to us as soon as you can, we're all very excited to work with all of you.
