By popular demand, The 2005 Upper Mississippi Mash-Out is hosting a NEW CATEGORY this year: THE NEW ENTRANT CATEGORY http://www.mnbrewers.com/mashout This category is for home-brewers who have NEVER entered a homebrew contest before. This category will be judged by one Grand Master BJCP Judge and two National BJCP Judges, and special attention will be given to making sure the scoresheets are thorough and helpful to the brewers. THIS IS A MEDAL CATEGORY, and the winner of the category WILL PROGRESS TO THE BEST OF SHOW!! If you've ever considered entering a homebrew contest and for whatever reason have not gotten around to it until now - this is your chance. * You will be competing ONLY against other brewers who have never entered before (not those "Medal Hungry Wolves"!!) * Your entries will be judged by the most highly ranked BJCP judges in the region. * ANY style of beer is open to this category. Give it a shot! What have you got to lose?? And while you're at it, why don't you come to the Awards Ceremony on Jan 29, 2005 at 8pm at Summit Brewery and pick up your medal in person!
