 Ordinary Guys Brewing Extraordinary Beer

5/1/2010

Greetings!

We've been meaning to have a word with you. It's just that, well...you've been drinking a lot. Or at least, a lot of Fulton. We're in 60 bars right now, and the waiting list seems to be getting longer, not shorter.

On that note, we're cranking up production significantly this month. We've had a lot of questions about bottles. We're working hard to get our packaging ready, but bottles are still several months away. We're shooting for late fall.

In the mean time, keep supporting all the fantastic bars that have been supporting us. The response we've been getting has been truly humbling--we thought people would be excited about a new Minneapolis beer company, but we underestimated it by a factor of about ten. So, thanks for helping us out us as we grow. We're nothing short of thrilled to be in every bar we're in, but we'd love just as much to get beer to everyone who's asked for it. Brings to mind one of our favorite G'N'R songs...Patience.

In other news, we're working on a few fun projects. One of them is the Fulton Racing team. We'll have about ten runners in the Grandma's Marathon next month. Be sure to cheer them on if you're in attendance. Maybe even sneak them a beer at a water stop.

More details to come on the other projects...

Target Field has Fulton...

...nearby, that is. Sorry, cruel joke. In all seriousness, we've heard some grumbling about the limited selection of local beers at Target Field. While we can't do much to help with that just yet, we can point you in the direction of a Fulton on your way to & from the game. A bunch of great bars in the Warehouse district are carrying us. Look them up at http://fultonbeer.com/wordpress/locations. And, if you're stopping at a bar that doesn't yet carrry Fulton, be sure to ask for us.

We're pretty sure you'll still be able to enjoy yourself at the game--the new field is gorgeous, the Twins are rolling, and you do have great local beers including Summit, Schell's, Grain Belt, and Finnegan's to choose from.

Lo0king for something to do this month?

Look, we're  all budgeting our calories at this point in anticipation of swimsuit season. Or at least, we should be.  Well, it's time to pencil in a few more beer calories, because we've got a great schedule of May events to mingle, imbibe, and enjoy our fine city.

May 12: 14th Annual East Side Wine Tasting: Yes, we know it says wine tasting in the title, but we promise there will be beer there too. This a great event benefitting East Side Neighborhood Services. The event takes place at the Nicollet Island Pavillion from 5- 8 pm.  May 14-15: Art-A-Whirl Beer Trailer @ The Sample Room: We'll be pouring beers in the beer trailer at the Sample Room parking lot. There just might be some fun, new casks there too... More info about Art-A-Whirl at http://nemaa.org/webpage.php?webpage_name=ART-A-WHIRL. Check out The Sample Room at http://the-sample-room.com/

May 16: Gastro Non Grata: Come to the parking lot of The Modern Cafe for Gastro Non Grata. We'll be on stage pouring samples & talking about brewing and beer at around 4:00. For those who haven't been to their shows, just think better eating + smarter drinking + rock'n'roll. What else do you need to know? http://gastronongrata.com/gng_final_pages/About.html

May 17: Yappee Hour at Pairings: No, that's not a typo: it's happy hour, doggystyle. Well, you know what we mean--you can bring your dog to happy hour at Pairings. What happens after that is up to your dog. Regardless, it sounds like our kind of event. We'll be there, with dogs.

May 18: Bartending at Stub & Herb's: In honor of American Craft Beer Week, Stub & Herb's has invited us to bartend on Tuesday night. Though it may be a conflict of interest, we'll even pour you a non-Fulton from the great tap lineup at Stub's...not that you'd ask us to do that. Just make sure it's an American craft.

May 21: Meet the Brewers Night at Cherokee Tavern: We'll be hanging out from happy hour onwards, talking beer and what-not. If you haven't been to the Cherokee yet, it's a great neighborhood hangout, and we highly recommend coming--not that you have to wait for us to be there.

May 28: Common Roots Cafe Meet the Brewers: Common Roots is truly one of the coolest places in Minneapolis, and they do local like almost nobody else. We're all about that, so we'll be out on the patio to pour some samples and talk brewing from 7:00 on. Extra points for riding your bike.

May 29: Enjoy the long weekend. It may be Memorial Day, but if you've been to even half of these events, you may not even want a beer by now. And that's okay. Take the long weekend to regroup, because rumor has it that The Lonely Blonde is just around the corner...
