Hello Minnesotians with Character
I'm making a little list and you may be on it. Yes, you know who you are.
You were not thinking enough kind thoughts about nice weather.
Thanks to some last minute efforts, it looks like we are going to be able to
pull off the big brew in spite of the weather. Al Boyce volunteered his
10x26 carport that will be setup this afternoon. Dawn (my wonderful wife)
is recovering from recovering. She had a nasty bout with viral pneumonia
and is recovering from that and the antibiotics. In spite of that, we
cleaned the house and she has been cooking up a storm. Possibly the menu
will help the day.
We have a huge batch of homemade baked beans, special BBQ sauce, pulled
pork, brats, kraut, and if we have enough people show up, we're cooking
chicken.
BTW Jim Imbertson deserves an award. Jim has everything loaded on his flat
bed only to have a rear brake line rupture as he was leaving the driveway.
It it looks like he's working too hard, give him a hand. It's never fun
working on brakes during the rain.
The usual offer stands. Bring your smile, your stuff, a chair, rain gear,
your appetite, and have a great time. We are planning on kicking everything
off in the morning per the original plan. Unless we get a couple of feet of
snow, things should work out fairly well.
One last word about yeast. I have some first generation Weinstephan (sp)
yeast (a couple of carboys worth) free for the taking. The grain is
measured and we are fairly ready to roll. Grist milling is an inside
process this year.
So that's all that's fit to print. Hope you don't wimp out. If you are
thinking about it..don't! If you just can't make it and are on the wort
list, let me know electronically or preferably via phone. 952 346-6459 or
952 941-9378.
Cheers!
Rick
