Subject: [SPHBC] Hoppy Halloween Challenge Information
Welcome to this year's Hoppy Halloween Challenge!!
This is the 9th year of the Hoppy Halloween Challenge and although 9 has not
been a big number to celebrate we have some exciting events coming your way
regardless.
For our homebrew competition only 2 bottles are required to arrive between
September 25th and October 8th. BOS judging will occur on October 28th.
The cost is $6.50/entry and I believe we will have on-line entry for those
who prefer that method. All of the rules/regs can be found at:

BOS Speaker:
For entertainment at our BOS Dinner we have no other than John Palmer -
Author of "How to Brew" who will be giving us an entertaining talk at the
end of our dinner before the awards are announced.
Dinner
- At the VIP Room on October 28th, 6pm
- Homebrew is welcome. - Sorry, no beers are provided with the meal but
various wines and beers are available for purchase. Seating is limited and
a final count is needed by October 21st so please sign up early if you
intend to go.
Cost: $30.00 (or $25.00 for judges, stewards and assistants) (Tip is
included)
Food Choices: London Broil w/ Rosemary roasted potatoes
Salmon Picata w/ Blended rice in a lemon caper sauce
Pasta Primavera
- All meals include side salad, dinner rolls, Desert Bars, Coffee or soda
- Send money to Susan Ruud, 5605 56th Ave. N. Harwood, ND 58042 with
your choice of meal.
Judging:
3 sessions of judging are planned but more will be added if necessary.
- October 11th at our club meeting - hopefully start about 6pm and try to
run 2 flights.
- October 27th at the Microtel starting at 6pm (a light dinner will be
provided before judging at 5pm)
- The Halloween Theme beers will be judged when the rest of judging ends on
Friday evening.
- October 28th at the Microtel starting at 9am with a 2nd flight immediately
following if necessary.
- BOS judging will commence as soon as all the entries are judged.

what categories you can judge/or would prefer to judge altho I cannot make a
guarantee what style you will be placed in.
Hotel:
We are doing our judging at the Microtel Inn and Suites, 1101 38th St. N.
Fargo, ND 58102 - Phone # 701-281-2109. A block of rooms has been set
aside under the Prairie Homebrewers - the Cost will be $55.00/room altho
they will drop the price to $50.00/room if 10 or more rooms are booked. The
Microtel is located on the SW corner of I-29 and 12th Ave. N. in Fargo.
