Don't forget - the Minnesota Home Brewers Association April meeting is TODAY, Sat, April 1, at the CSPS Hall at 383 Michigan Ave in St. Paul, from noon - 3pm.

CRYSTAL MALT EXTRAVAGANZA!
Mike Behrendt is our meeting host, and will be present the CRYSTAL MALT EXTRAVAGANZA!  Come and smell, feel and taste nearly 46 different malts ranging from 1.4 Lovibond to 600 Lovibond. We'll start with a few base malts, go through the range of Crystal/Caramel malts and end with Chocolate/Black/Roasted.

We have malts from the US, UK, Germany and Belgium to compare.

Some of the malts are from a small maltster in the UK who still does floor malting and they're the only ones that also give tours. Stop by Tuckers in Newton Abbot and thank Richard. They have a nice brewery attached serving great beer and one of the best beer stores which includes some US craft beer which was interesting.

Malt descriptions will be available and you are encouraged to make your own notes. Bring a pencil and some homebrew

BRING YOUR FIRST ROUND AHA NATIONALS ENTRIES!
Rick Oftel will be transporting our club's entries down to Iowa for the qualifying round of the AHA Nationals FOR FREE!  That's right - no packaging or shipping necessary on your part.  Only one bottle needed, we will have entry forms and rubber bands there for you.  Bring an extra bottle or two if you want some club advice on the best category in which to enter your beer(s).  Bring your check made out to the AHA for your entry fees - $8 per entry for AHA members, $12 for non-AHA members.

EVERYONE SHOULD PARTICIPATE?  Why?  Our club gets points towards "Homebrew Club of the Year" for each 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awarded in the qualifying round (and in the finals).  All three ribbons are eligible to go on to compete in the Finals in Orlando, Florida in June.  If you only have one or two bottles left of that "special beer", you will have time to re-brew it prior to the finals should you win.

BRING YOUR HOMEBREW AND YOUR QUESTIONS!
As always, bring whatever beers you've been brewing to share with your club members and get some tips, and bring whatever questions you have about brewing.  That's what club meetings are all about!

See you in St. Paul this afternoon!
