Hey guys. Have any of you done any canning, pickling etc?
Any idea if using StarSan to sanitize jars instead of steaming them, boiling etc. would be a good idea? Anyone with experience?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Alexey, With sanitation being so important in canning, I would think you would want to boil/steam, to be certain. StarSan does a good job, but there is always the question of, "Did it touch that particular spot?" and also the notion of whether the acid concentration was high enough . . . Too many factors involved for me with StarSan to try it. Boiling/steaming is so easy . . . Cheers,John Personal. Professional.

Grape JUICE orders through Duane Van Hoever due SEPT 26, pickup is OCT 5 from 9am-Noon. Place orders directly through Duane. See attached for varieties and prices.
This is fresh-frozen grape juice from California, brought in on a refrigerated truck, and the prices are GREAT! Bring Duane a bottle of your mead or wine as a gift for him doing this!

Come to Number 12 Cider (yes, again!) on Tuesday, September 24th at 6:00 to compete in the 2019 Iron Brewer contest. Or just come and try all the entries. (you are encouraged to bring whatever you've been working on, even if it DOESN'T use wood) And read the article to see which wood products you want to purchase through a club buy . . . https://mnbrewers.com/events/event/iron-brewer-wood-challenge-advance-sales… Personal.
