The first message spurred a lot of folks to purchase their tickets, so hopefully this message will get the rest of you motivated to buy. In a few weeks I will need to release our unsold tickets back to the Saints so that the club isn't stuck with a bunch. The game is Monday, June 13th. http://www.mnbrewers.com/events/category/meetings/ Thanks,
John Personal. Professional.

Dear BFD participant
Thank you for registering for the 2016 Brewer For a Day Competition. For
the past four years this has been a major undertaking on behalf of the
brewery staff and the volunteers who have helped coordinate and administer
the competition. This year we have been distracted with the building of
the new taproom Inbound Brewco, and have not provided the appropriate level
of marketing or communication with the competition. We are therefore
delaying the competition judging to the week of June 20th with the winner
announced at Inbound on Saturday June 25th.
I hope to keep you as a participant in the competition, but understand that
the change of date may affect you’re the quality of your beer or choice of
categories entered. Hopefully it gives you more time to prepare. If this
is not the case and you would like to remove yourself, we will happily
refund your entry fee. If you still want to be part of the competition but
want to change your beer registration, you will be able to do that through
the BFD competition website. If you have trouble, contact us.
Big Brew will continue on May 7th. You won’t find out who won BFD, but you
will have an opportunity to brew with some of the best homebrewers in the
state. Who knows, maybe you’ll brew the BFD winning beer that day! We
hope to see you there.
Thank you for your patience.
Cheers,
Jon Messier

Hey, BJCP judges!
We have an opportunity to help one of our members maintain his position
within the BJCP as the North region representative. That's right, Al Boyce
is asking for your help in his re-election. If you haven't already done so,
please log in to cast your vote. Turnout has been low as of late and we
could use all of your participation.
For those of you who don't know Al - He has been an anchor and long term
member of the MHBA. In addition, he also is the current Treasurer of the
BJCP. His involvement with the homebrewing community has been and will
continue to be incredibly important. There is entirely too much to list for
Al's past involvement, but if you want to take the time to read it:
bjcp.org/docs/2016boyce.pdf
On a personal note, Al has been a good friend and instrumental in helping
me as past President of the MHBA and my BJCP invovement. I can't think of a
better person to be representing us as our North region BJCP
Representative.
Again, if you haven't voted, please consider doing so before the April 30th
deadline.
Brett
You know the drill by now. You ignore the dreary grey sky, the lack of anything green in the yard, the feeling that Apollo doesn’t love Minnesotans any longer, and you dream of a not-so-distant future day, sitting in the sun with all your homebrewer friends, grilling meat and drinking beer, awaiting a warm evening game of baseball. What will assist you in your dreaming is buying some tickets to the club’s annual tailgating party at the Saints game, which this year will take place on Monday, June 13th. (sorry, AHA travelers!)
Tickets will be $18 each, and include a reserved infield seat at the new stadium and some freshly-grilled meat. Member typically bring all kinds of delightful foods and beverages to share at this family-friendly event. We’ll all gather in the DART parking lot, beginning at 4:00. You’ll want to purchase your tickets with a credit card, using the link below. We probably cannot purchase extra tickets come May, so step forward now to give us an accurate head count, please.Purchase your tickets now! John Personal. Professional.

Subject: BJCP Written Exam - May 7, 2016 in SLP
Fellow BJCP Judges -
Looking to up your rank to National or above? I will be hosting a BJCP
Written Exam on Saturday, May 7 in Saint Louis Park. It will be in the

that everyone is taking it at the exact same time - I'll let you know when I
learn the exact time.)
To qualify to take the exam:
You must be National, or have a Judging (tasting) score of 80 % or better
You must have 10 experience points or more
The cost is $25. If you would like to take the exam, send a non-refundable
check by March 23, made out to me, to:
Al Boyce
3208 Edgewood Ave S
St.Louis Park, MN 55426
The deadline is 6 weeks before the exam date, so if I don't have your check
in hand by March 26, it will be too late.
I will send out the address and other instructions to those who sign up.
Let me know if you have questions.
