The Mashout Organizers
. . . to come drink homebrew and roll a few balls Monday night! I'm certain that there are more members who would like to bowl at a private lanes than I've heard from so far. It's simple--you show up Monday (with your family!) with some homebrew and possibly snacks, you hang out with your fellow club-mates, and roll a game or two in a low-stress environment. We're the only people there to judge you and your bowling ability, and I promise that there won't be strobe lights or a greasy odor in your hair when you leave!! :) http://www.mnbrewers.com/events/event/bowling-for-homebrew-2/ John Personal. Subject: St Patrick's Day Homebrew Contest in Winona, MN
Hello,
My name is Jason Strangstalien, I am organizing our annual St Patrick's Day Homebrew Contest in the beautiful bluff country of Winona, MN. Winona is located 116 miles south of Minneapolis right on the Mississippi River.
This contest will take place on Saturday, March 19th 2016. The judging location is in Winona, MN. We are breaking up the judging into 3 sessions, beginning at 9am, lunch at 11am (provided), 12pm noon, and 2:30pm. For each session, a team of two will be going through 8 homebrews. There will be tentatively 8 teams of 2 for each session (depending on final amount of entries received). It would be awesome if the judges could be here for all 3 sessions, but if you can come for 2 or even 1 sessions, we would appreciate it. The BJCP judges will be teamed up with an experienced homebrewer we select from the Rochester-La Crosse-Winona area. There will be a second meal provided after the final session wraps up.
Contest/event details are on www.bluff.coop/homebrewcontest <http://www.bluff.coop/homebrewcontest>
After the judging we will announce the winners and give out the prizes. We will have 2 or 3 homebrews on tap from our local homebrewers to enjoy during our informal awards ceremony.
It should be a great time, and a great way to celebrate St Patrick's Day in the bluff country! I hope that you can make it!
Thanks for the consideration,
Jason Strangstalien
Interesting menu!

Subject: Mashout Banquet Details
Date: January 30th 2016
Time: 6:00PM (doors open at 5:30PM)
Location: Grumpy's Roseville
IMPORTANT: Banquet ticket sales will close around 5:00 PM on January 25th.
tl;dr? You can just buy your tickets here:

Saturday night in general....
This year's banquet is going to follow last year's format again, but this
time we are doing a beer-pairing dinner with beers from the great folks at
Goose Island. The cost is $60/person and will sell out. Guys, I know it
seems like $60 is a lot for a dinner and frankly, the only complaints we got
from the mashout was how expensive the banquet is. Some people even said
that we were getting to big for our britches and trying to make loads of
cash. Firstly, $60 for a beer and food dinner with the quality and number
(6) of beers isn't found regardless of the quality of the food...'cept we
have some great grub set up!!! Seeing its relatively spendy, we had a lot of
requests last year to make things a little more exotic than your standard
banquet fare. We agree completely so turned chef loose on what he calls 'The
African Safari'. We do understand not everyone will want want to partake and
we'll sell out to boot so not everyone will get to play. Worry not, they've
got a complete kitchen upstairs too!!
Awards
The awards banquet starts sometime after 7:45PM. If you are just coming for
the awards portion (that's free), please wait in Grumpy's (grab a nice beer
from their great selection of taps) until the doors open which we'll do as
soon as the banquet is finished. Please be mindful and don't try to sneak in
before and doubly mindful the attendees have paid for their beer and food so
it's not open season on left overs. That being said, you are more than
welcome to bring in beers to share at the awards! How can we have an awards
ceremony without drinking!? That would be silly. Most importantly, as
always, there will be the ever massive raffle and silent auction which
always has loads of brewing, brewery and beer swag and libations. We'll be
selling raffle tickets upon door opening. As we said, don't worry, it won't
close until the end of the awards so if you aren't at the banquet, you'll
still get your shot at some killer stuff!
Banquet
For your $60, here's what you get:
- Raffle ticket
- Goose Island beers paired with each course
- A great night with great food and beer and company (we can promise the
latter)
Beer
This year again, our good buddy Rich Heller from Goose Island has gone out
of his way to bring some wonderful beers to pair with all the great food
below. He'll give us a brief little synopsis of what he thinks will go best
with what but its up to you to pour them in your own glass. If there is one
thing we had too much of last year, it was beer...and thats never a bad
thing!! Here is a little list from last year, that will be similar to what
we'll have this year. Honkers, Sofie, Matilda, Pepe Nero, Pere Jacques, and
Lolita.
Menu
Mains
Piri Piri Chicken - With history of both Portugal and Mozambique you won't
be able to get enough of this this spice laden dish. Chile peppers, ginger,
garlic brings thoughts to the Caribbean where there are many offshoots of
this dish.
Zaire beef and ground nut stew - Not stew in the way you think of the soupy
Dinty Moore-type. This is much more of the really thick and very rich type.
Beefy, spicy, hearty, and very fragrant ground nuts (which are peanuts).
Sides
Tanzanian mango and cucumber salad - Cucumbers, mangos, salady bits, fresh
and bright to cut all the meaty and starchy goodness of the other dishes.
Nigerian Fried dodo and cassava - If you've never had fried plantains and
yucca (YUCCA FRITA!?) you will be thanking us for introducing you to these
addictive golden brown and delicious gems.
Sexy sweet potato - If you were full enough, rich and tasty sweet potatoes
go right along as a side to all the other amazing flavors.
Savory coconut rice - All over Africa and the Caribbean this is an absolute
staple. If there was a single thing you could literally just sit and eat by
itself, its coconut rice. Or put anything on top of it.
Desserts
Yes yes yes none of these are African. We understand that but sometimes,
every once in a while, one needs their yearly serving of massively sweet and
rich Tres Leche and Tiramisu.
Tres Leche Cake
Tiramisu
Vegetarian option:
We have very few requests so email us at info(a)mashout.org and we'll get you
straight.
There's still time (but less of it!) to let me know that you're coming to bowl with homebrew on January 25th. Please let me know soon!http://www.mnbrewers.com/events/event/bowling-for-homebrew-2/ Thanks,John Personal. Professional.

About a 2 weeks ago one of the accounts on my server "thebarn.com"
got hacked which resulted in it being used as a spam forwarder.
The hacked account has been disabled and the flow of spam blocked
but not before a few systems added thebarn.com's IP address to their
block list. Comcast was one of the mail systems that black listed
thebarn.com. The request to removed IP from their black list has
be processed so mail from thebarn.com should be delivered to comcast.com
again.
I have gone trough the list of address on the mba list and re-enabled
all the autoblocked @comcast.com addresses.
Sorry to all the mba members @comcast.com for any messages that did
not make it to you.
The list is archived here:

For anybody wishing to see what was missed.
