So...what's everyone doing with their Lucid Double Black IPA?
Mine got fermented on Wyeast 1272 and is looking like it's ready to move
out of primary!

Registration is now open for the 2014 Indiana Brewers’ Cup Competition.
Is this just another call for another brewing competition? Of course! But this is the Indiana Brewers Cup. The competition where everyone who is anyone will
come, judge, and get paid! Plenty of bathrooms, great food, just a great experience! Ok, that is the carrot, the pitch, and the lure. On to business.
The Indiana State Fair Brewers Cup is one of the largest Craft Beer competitions in the country. The Brewers Cup began judging quality homebrew and professional
entries in 1999. The competition continues to have annual growth. In 2013 over 1200 homebrewed and professional beers were judged over three sessions. BJCP judges, professional brewers, and BJCP Provisional Judges are welcomed and encouraged to judge at this
year’s competition. Judging will take place on Friday, July 11th, and Saturday, July 12th, at the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion
on the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This is a BJCP-sanctioned competition, so points will be awarded. We also pay a small stipend to offset travel expenses to professional brewers and BJCP judges. Judges who travel at least 50 miles one way and judge at least
two sessions will receive a $100 stipend. Local judges will be paid $12.50 per session. We provide meals during the judging and you are welcome to stay for the Awards Reception on Saturday evening. For Homebrewers The Indiana State Fair Brewers’ Cup will
again participate in the Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing (MCAB) as a Qualifying Event. Consult http://masterhomebrewer.org/
for more information.
A website,
www.brewerscup.org/ is available for judge/steward registration, entry submission, and
details surrounding this years event.

I just received a note that there is some construction happening near Lucid
tomorrow, depending on your direction of travel:
ATTENTION ALL WORT RALLY ATTENDEES: Both 62 west and 169 south(from 62 down
to 494) will be CLOSED tomorrow. It might just be best to come in the back
way. Take Excelsior West to Baker road, and then take Baker south to
Culligan. Cheers
Anyone want the wort, going to the rally, but didn't make the cutoff?
You can have mine if you'll be there. It's a Black Double IPA.
Let me know and bring a carboy or keg on Saturday.
//Mike Behrendt
We're doing what we hope is the final demo/cleanup volunteer event at the now named "Limestone Springs" Brewery, (formerly Strunk, Strunk-Nyssen, and Shakopee Brewery) on Saturday, (see attached invite).
After the last couple of spaces are cleaned out, we can finally have it looked at by a structural engineer and architect to advise how to proceed. We want to get at least some of the space ready for home, community and nano brewing by this fall.
I am so not technically savvy about how to share the invite with the brewclub and other groups. If you would pass along the invite we would be very grateful! We really need help, especially from the brewing community.
It will be awesome to save the building and get it back into brewing before it collapses!
BIG thanks! and Cheers!!

> Hello all, we are still a little short on judges for WI State fair next weekend. Any help, even one session would be appreciated. The WI State Fair BJCP is a sanctioned Homebrew competition. There will be 5 judging sessions beginning Friday May 9th and finishing Saturday May 10th. If you already emailed me, you will get an acknowledgement soon.
>
> Friday (May 9th) will begin at 3:30pm, with the second session beginning around 6:30pm. Dinner (Pizza this year) will be provided at about 5:30.
>
> Saturday will begin at 900AM with the second session beginning at about 12:30pm. Lunch will be provided. A fifth session will start at 3:00 pm and we hope to be finished around 5-530pm. We will schedule around those of you taking the exam Saturday AM. (As a matter of fact, please feel free to join us for lunch – The homemade box lunches were a hit last year.)
>
> BOS judging will be scheduled later in the next week.
>
> Please show up 15 to 30 minutes prior to judging. Time details may be adjusted after we determine the number of available judges.
>
> The State Fair competition is a perfect SE WI competition for new and prospective judges. This is a perfect opportunity for those taking the tasting test and needing experience points.
>
> We do want to have at least one BJCP ranked judge per each flight, so we need you veterans also!!
>
> As a thank you for your participation, you will receive a free ticket to State Fair, and we will provide you with a raffle ticket for each session you can attend (Not including BOS.) 8 winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to a homebrew shop.
>
> We are also considering a special lottery for Certified and above judges… Two experienced judges will be conducting the BOS. The third slot will go to a Certified or above judge subject to your availability. You will receive a chance for every regular session judged.
>
> This is very important as there is no online volunteer registration, so please send your queries to Patrick(a)QBrews.com. Send your name, the sessions/days you can volunteer, your BJCP rank and BJCP number and any categories that you have entered a beer or cannot judge.
>
> Also, if you want to steward please respond to my email.
>
> Thank You to all who have previously emailed me. You should get a direct email from me tomorrow…
>
> And thank you in advance for your participation!
