This may be a strange topic for some, but for anyone who likes a little
exercise and some socializing with good beer afterward, you should come
check out the next group run with Run Beer Repeat, the Twin Cities beer and
running club. The run is tomorrow, Thursday May 29 at 6:00pm right near the
corner of West River Road and West Broadway in Minneapolis. The "beer"
portion will be at Dangerous Man around 7:00 or so!
For details, check out : http://ranimosity.org/2014/05/27/lets-go-run/
Run Beer Repeat is the beer and running club started by MHBA member and
Surly Brewing Brewer, Derek Allmendinger.
Hope to see you there!

Just a reminder that there is a MHBA Social Hour at Moto-i on 2940 Lyndale Ave S. Minneapolis MN 55408 starting at 6 pm tonight. Sake brewing season is almost over and Matt Asay (the brewer who recently took my BJCP exam prep class) has kindly agreed to talk to us about the process as a favor to the club.
Hope to see you there! -Gera
P.S. Moto-i is just two buildings away from Herkimer (and owned by the same).
They have asked me to speak at their event and it should be a fun time. Hope to see you there. -Gera Join Canvas Health for one of the hippest and hoppiest events of the summer. Hey everyone,
Just a reminder about some upcoming events:
On Memorial Day, May 26th from 4 to 7 pm at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery is the official release party for Michael Agnew's new book "A Perfect Pint's Beer Guide to the Midwest". Here's what Facebook has to say about the event:
Even though it’s already available in book stores and online, May 26th is the publisher’s official release date for A Perfect Pint’s Beer Guide to the Heartland. After three-and-a-half years of working and waiting, that seems like a good reason to celebrate. What better place to celebrate a book that celebrates breweries than at a brewery?
Come to the Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery on Monday, May 26th from 4 to 7 pm. I’ll be there selling and signing books. Town Hall will throw in a voucher for a free pint with every book purchased. They'll be releasing a new beer that night, too.
I am moving the up the date for the MHBA logo contest to midnight on May 26th to give everyone the long weekend to finish up their designs. Even if you are not an artist/graphic designer, but still have a good idea, please enter it! If the judges like your idea, we can have it graphically polished up. The prize is a $200 gift card to a home brew shop and a MHBA shirt with your logo. More details on our website: http://www.mnbrewers.com/logo-contest/
And finally, I have organized a Social Event at Moto-i on Wednesday, May 28th starting at 6 pm. The brewer, Matt Asay recently took my BJCP exam prep class, and he was nice enough to invite us for our tour. Here is your chance to learn more about saki brewing (and taste a few samples). 2940 Lyndale Ave S. Minneapolis MN 55408
Hope to see you soon! -Gera

They're looking for judges for the Town Hall cider comp this week.
There's a session on Wednesday at the Minneapolis Northern Brewer store at
7 pm. There's also a session on Friday at 7 pm at Town Hall.
There will be food for judges both nights.
Email Jeff Merrriman if you can help: jmerriman(a)northernbrewer.com
They got 85 entries and are a bit overwhelmed with the number of
entries, I think,
so any help
would be great.
For everyone who is attending the Saints game on the 22nd, you'll find all the details at www.mnbrewers.com, but here's the gist of it. Bring some delectable dishes and homebrew to share. Meat, chairs, tables, and plasticware will be provided. The parking lot opens at 4:00, and you'll receive your tickets for the game while tailgating (if you purchased tickets through the club site!). Thanks,
John Personal. Professional.
