Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that the MHBA April Club Meeting is Sunday, April 29th from noon to 3 pm.
We will be in the party room at the Black Forest Inn (1 East 26th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404), which is on the corner of Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street. There is a parking lot on Nicollet Avenue that you can use. Go through the restaurant and the party room is on the other side of the outdoor patio. The food at Black Forest is excellent, so I suggest having lunch here.
You are encouraged to bring your home brewed beers, meads, and ciders. We will be selecting People's Choice Beer and People's Choice Mead/Cider with each receiving a $25 Northern Brewer gift certificate. (If you can send me an email with what you are bringing that will be very helpful for keeping track.) We will also be selecting a club representative for the AHA Club Only Competition for Irish and Scottish Ales (BJCP category 9). If you would like your beer considered, please bring three bottles on Sunday (one for judging and two to send forward if yours is selected.)
But wait, there is more! If your membership is up to date, you will received a new style MHBA tasting glass (see attached photo)! If your membership has lapsed, you are able to renew at the meeting, so please bring cash or check if you wish to do so.
See you on Sunday!

I just wanted to remind everyone that the next MHBA club meeting is this Sunday, April 29th from noon - 3 pm at the Black Forest Inn Party Room. This is a separate, private room from the restaurant that is located on the other side of their outdoor patio.
This is our fourth annual Home Brew Fest, which has been a highly popular meeting! Please bring your home brewed beers, meads, or ciders to share with other club members. In the past, we have had over 50 different styles to try. A couple of bottles, growlers, or kegs are all welcome. (Any amount is welcome.) We are also selecting the club's representative for the AHA Club Only Competition for Scottish and Irish Ales (category 9). If you have a beer that you would like considered, please bring three bottles (one for judging and two to send forward, if you beer is selected).
Please send me an email letting me know what style of beer/mead/cider you plan on bringing. (Signing up ahead of time makes it easier for me to keep track. But you are still welcome to bring your brew the day of the event.) There will be prizes for People's Choice beer and People's Choice mead/cider.
The Black Forest has excellent food, so I hope you will consider ordering lunch while you are here. The address is: 1 East 26th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55404. There is a parking lot on 26th.
I am looking forward to it!

(to Neil--thanks for sending the check to the Saints. My e-mails to you using both your Yahoo and Hotmail e-dresses are bouncing, just FYI) To everyone else-- For those who will attend ONLY if Steve P.'s mead is there, I did receive a check from said mead-maker, so there's a chance . . . For those who will NOT attend if Steve's mead is there, Steve sent his regrets for this year's event . . . For those who will attend REGARDLESS of the presence of the aforementioned fermented honey beverage, please check your calendars, shoot me an e-mail to tell me of your ticket desires, then follow the payment process detailed in the following message (which is the original message). Your initial and traditional lackluster response has me once again wondering if we need all the allotted tickets, even though I waited until much closer to the event this time around to announce the event! :) You know you're coming, so please just TELL ME! :) (the original message)Back by popular demand, the 2012 version of Sinning With the Saints! Monday, June 11th, the MN Homebrewers Association will once again stake a claim to tailgating spot #5 in Midway Stadium's parking lot for grilling, chilling, and swilling from 4:00 until 11:00. At 7:00, some attendees might even take their tickets and enter the stadium to harass the players from Fargo-Moorhead, the mascot, and each other. At least twice in years past we've had club members on the field for between-inning nonsense--some as cross-dressers, some with root beer as shampoo! There will be tables and chairs provided by the club. I'll need two volunteers (or just Bob Norman, with his TEXAS-SIZED CONTRAPTION!) to bring grills. You'll bring meat and some food to share (and homebrew, of course). The club will provide napkins, plasticware, and condiments. Tickets are $12 each, and children aged three and over should have one. Please send a check, PAYABLE to MHBA, toJohn Longballa1015 Parker AveRoseville 55113 Attendees NEED NOT be members. There are usually many spouses, kids, and extended friends/families in attendance. Please let me know that you're attending SOOOOONER, rather than after I've had to once again panic that we have four times the tickets we need, then send in your checks, then plan a dish to share, then brew some beer to bring . . . Thanks,
John Personal. Professional.
