Brewing TV Episode 6 is now up and running. I get to make a cameo in this one! For about two seconds. Ha!
http://www.brewingtv.com/episodes/2010/6/8/btv-16-mark-stutrudtopless-hefe-…
In this episode, BTV talks with Mark Stutrud, founder of Summit Brewing Company and keynote speaker at next week's National Homebrewers Conference in the Twin Cities. We also taste Mike's open-fermented Hefe we brewed a few episodes ago.
We will be doing much more NHC previewing next week... and then we'll have a wrap-up episode the week after the conference... it's like being in news again!
Cheers.... Chip W.

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone else in the Roseville/Saint Paul area is attending the BJCP event at Summit next Wednesday and would be interested in carpooling and/or sharing taxis. My number is in my signature below.
Thanks!

URGENT!! Help is needed in sorting entries for the AHA National Homebrew Competition. It will be at 8am this Saturday, so it shouldn't eat up much time of your day.
Contact Cellarmaster ERIC ANDERSON at gonolius(a)gmail.com if you can help.

I just sent a private email to all the people I have on my list of
donors of beverages for MHBA Club Night Booth & the MHBA Hospitality
Suite session.
If you did not receive that email and are planning to bring something
to the AHA NHC for either Club Night or the MHBA session in the
Hospitality Suite you should send a private email (no need to reply to
the whole list) to me with the details on what you are bringing. I
will need to know:
1) what kind of beer, mead, cider (approximate BJCP style is sufficient)
2) how it is packaged; ball-lock keg, pin-lock keg, bottles, other?
3) how much of it are you bringing
Thanks

Subject: Flat Earth June Update
I'll try to keep it short and sweet, like this coming Winter I hope!
We have partnered with The Twin Cities Jazzfest again this year! Head down to Mears Park in St. Paul June 18th & 19th and grab a pint or three of Hep Cat Blonde Ale or the Cascade Hopped Angry Planet American Pale Ale from one of the 2 draft trailers, while listening to some cool jazz. For more information go to www.hotsummerjazz.com
The St. Paul Summer Beer Festival is on June 20th at Midway Stadium. Last year was a great time and we took home the People's Choice Award for Sunburst, our apricot-infused Belgian Pale Ale. For tickets and more information go to www.stpaulsummerbeerfest.com
Growler Sales are Monday thru Friday from noon to 630 p.m. and Saturdays noon to 3 p.m.. Beer sampling is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, from 3:30 to 6:30.
Our tours are full for this month. We do have some openings for both of our July tours (10th & 24th). You can email for reservations at tour(a)flatearthbrewing.com.

Fulton Beer
Ordinary Guys Brewing Extraordinary Beer
6/2/2010
Greetings!
We get a lot of requests about when we're releasing our next beer and what
it will be. Well, ask and you shall receive--this time, anyway. Tomorrow
(Thursday, June 3rd), we're releasing our second full-time beer, the Lonely
Blonde. An American style blonde ale, the Lonely Blonde is so named because
it is one of the only examples of the style to be found locally. Though the
Blonde is American born and raised, its distinct old world roots are clear,
thanks to the three German hop varieties we add during the boil. The Lonely
Blonde is an exceptionally balanced beer, light enough for the hottest
summer day, but complex enough to keep you company any day of the year. So,
if you see a Lonely Blonde at the bar, be sure to stop and introduce
yourself--it just might be the beginning of a beatiful relationship.
June Events
Here's what we're up to this month. Be sure to keep an eye on our website
and Facebook page, as we add new events all the time.
Thursday, June 3rd: Release party for The Lonely Blonde at King's Wine Bar.
We'll be pouring samples starting at around 8:00. King's is on the corner of
46th & Grand in South Minneapolis.
Tuesday, June 8th: Pizza Luce Downtown is featuring our beers this month,
which means $3 pints for you! Luce DT is a great place to grab a slice and a
pint before a Twins game, which is exactly what we'll be doing from 5:00 to
7:00 on the 8th.
Tuesday, June 15th: As you (hopefully) know, patio season is in full swing
by now. The Longfellow Grill has one of the best, and what better way to
celebrate it than with a Lonely Blonde? Join us for one (or more) from 6:00
to 9:00. And why not bike there? Longfellow is just off the Greenway.
Sunday, June 20th: What better way to celebrate Father's Day than by taking
dad to the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest? Join us and 70+ other breweries for
one of the best beer festivals in the Twin Cities. Visit
www.saintpaulsummerbeerfest.com

purchase tickets.
Tuesday, June 29th: We'll be heading to Cherokee Tavern for a beer dinner.
Beer dinners are all great, but they can be dollar--and calorie--intensive
affairs. Cherokee is putting together a lighter offering with 3 courses: a
Lonely Blonde & fruit/cheese pairing, Sweet Child of Vine matched with a
Fulton Vinaigrette salad, and a peach cobbler with a peach-infused Sweet
Child of Vine. It's only $30 per person, tax & tip included, but be sure to
call ahead early--there are only 25 slots available.
Other Going-ons in the Fulton world...
In addition to brewing beer, drinking beer, and talking about beer, we have
a number of other projects going on--all beer related, of course. One we're
particularly pleased to be a part of is the Randy Shaver Golf Classic. Each
year, the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund puts on a golf
tournament to raise money for cancer research. In 2009, they awarded over
$300,000 in grants. This year, Fulton is the beer sponsor of the golf
tournament. It's a great event for an extremely important cause. To find out
more about how you can help, visit randyshavergolf.com.
We're also tinkering with a few other things around the garage. There will
be some sweet new Fulton apparel available in the next month or so, so be
sure to check for it at our website from time to time.
Shhh! We're also designing our packaging for bottles--a fun project, to be
sure, but don't get too excited just yet, as bottles won't be available
until at least this fall. The people have spoken, and they've asked for
bottles. We've heard the call, but we appreciate everyone's patience--it's a
slow process, and believe us when we say nobody is more excited than us to
have Fulton available in bottles.
What else might you see in the future? Well, depends on how far into the
future you're looking. We're working hard right now on finding a brewery
space in Minneapolis, revamping our website, brewing more beer...the list
goes on and on. In fact, the list is so long that we've had to push back our
goal of having Fulton available on the moon until at least 2050. But rest
assured--you'll always be able to grab one on tap in the Twin Cities between
now and then.
Keep In Touch
Don't miss critical (what could be more critical than news about beer?)
