The eleventh annual Chicago Cup Challenge sponsored by B.O.S.S. is this
Saturday, April 13, at 8:30 AM in Blue Island. We need more judges. Please
register with our judge coordinator, John Dalton - jdalton(a)enteract.com if
you can make it.
The contest is held at Jakes BBQ in Olde Blue Island, just west of Western
Ave. and on the south side of the canal in a turn of the century historic
building. Delicious BBQ lunch will be served.
We have fewer entries than last year so things should go smoothly.
The exact address is 13304 S. Olde Western Ave. Check the CBS April
Calendar for Metro directions.
Thanks.

Greetings,
Dave Luskey, an MHBA member and employee of Rahr Malting, has worked out a
deal where we get to test a special 2 row blended malt. It is considered a
"base" malt and will tentatively be picked up April 13th, 1-4 or so.
Quantities to be determined, but you should know that there will be enough
for a "thorough" test.
You must have your own container/bag. If you wish to participate, contact
Dave (anyone know his e-mail?) or myself.
Mike Moranz, President
Minnesota Home Brewers Association
I've been out to the web site looking at the calendar and do not see any
monthly meeting notices posted. I do see a large number of events. Has
there been a change in format? Are the beer judging classes intended to
take the place of the monthly meeting. Also, if I wish to mail my dues to
someone should I use the Lino Lakes address listed on the newsletter.

Hi, The PHC had commemorative glasses made up for Charlie Papazian's Visit.
We have a few of these left. The front and back are shown on the
attachments. His entire tour schedule is listed on the back. They look
very nice. If anyone is interested in purchasing one of these they are
$5.00. I will be in the cities this weekend and could bring them down if
someone wants one.
Thanks,
Susan

Doesn't sound much different than what the American megabreweries have been doing all these years: less malt, more corn, shitty flavor, more alcohol.
