That's pretty consistent with what we've measured. It also shows that it's
well source and not surface source - so quality shouldn't change that much
from season to season or year to year. Although anything is possible. Be
aware that the hardness is being reported as grains per gallon. You need to
multiply that number by 17.1 to equal ppm. It's also reporting it as
"hardness" which probably means total (calcium and magnesium) I was
surprised at this analysis as I also thought it would be surface source and
much lower in hardness and alkalinity. Not the best water for any light
beers. Email me directly if you want the analysis - I'm pretty sure you
can't do attachments via the barn.

I used this water when I first started brewing. It wasn't bad, but I
wanted a source that was more reliable in it's content. You have to
consider the quality of the spring water is greatly effected by the
rainfalls and does happen to have a rather large landfill not too far
uphill from where the tap is. Not to mention it sucks standing outside in
-10 weather to fill 9 gallons.

I don't know the analysis of the water but I've used water from this
source exclusively over the past 2-3 years. I'd love to see the results if
a test is ever performed on it... at least pH wise..
The people you meet down there is quite eclectic as well... ;)

I used it a few years ago and thought it had a metallic taste. Switched

Dipak - is this the water we were discussing? If so, I have a lab
analysis of this water. If interested, email me directly.

Has anyone ever used the water from the Frederick Miller spring? It is
an artesian well in Eden Prairie. I saw it on Kare11 last night. I am
just wondering to know the quality of the water for brewing at home. My
water at home is so hard, I always need to add distilled to soften it up
Thanks
