Chellooooo Pubstitutes!
A little bit of info for you fine people about the use of this list.
Firstly, it is our intention to not overload your inbox with every little
thing going on at PDBC. We prefer to keep these emails about larger updates
and such. Secondly, If you want more constant info of the day to day goings
on at PDBC, where you can make Pour Decisions and what's going on in
Kristen's head for our next brews (be careful, you've been warned!), follow
us on Twitter (@PDBCbeer), like us on Facebook and check out our website for
all the latest and greatest.
HOURS! We?ve most of the kinks worked out of the taproom and its going
pretty smoothly! Lots of new faces are coming in daily and we?ve been lucky
to meet a lot of you guys. Our taproom will be open for growler sales every
Friday and Saturday in December. In addition to growlers of Pubstitute and
Patersbier, we will have some limited release offerings available this
month. Regular and special hours are always listed at the bottom of our
front webpage.

A few key dates now?
Saturday December 1st, 100 - 750ml bottles of a special batch of our
Berliner Weisse Acerbity will be available. Kristen is sort of a sour bug
mad scientist (mad at least) and likes to play around and 'develop' new
strains. He's been working on a newer one that we feel is ready to make an
appearance. Its name is Kofi. Why Kofi? Well this strain of Brett is quite
estery (pomme fruit) but has a lot more terpenes than most. Terpenes are the
chemicals produced by yeast, fruit, hops that give Gewurztraminer its
'reek', tropical fruit the big squishy sweet aroma and, most importantly for
us, pineapple its pineappleyness...that's a word, look it up. Where were
we...hhmmm, ah, yes, why Kofi? For Kofi Annan of course! A great person. A
hero of ours...and a local alumnist! More to the point, in Hungarian,
Ananasz means pineapple. Kristen?s 5 yo daughter, Szofia, always calls Kofi,
Kofi Ananasz. Kofi Pineapple...sounds much better than Kofi Isoprenoid.
What?s this got to do with anything you ask? We'll, we've got 100 bottles of
these babies to release come this Saturday. Limit of two. Saturday, Dec 1st.
Noon. Just FYI - there is 2 bottle limit per person. If these go over
anything like the first offering or Acerbity, they will be gone very quickly
Saturday.
Saturday, December 8th we will have 750ml bottles of our Maroon & Bold
available. The Maroon & Bold is our Imperial IPA (Infuriatingly Passive
Aggressive) made from 100% Minnesota ingredients. This baby is pretty
limited and will be available on tap at only few watering holes around town
so you?re more likely to get it at the brewery. We?ve a small keg of it and
will be giving out little pre-view samples at the brewery so swing on by!
Finally, a little bit more from Kristen about this big, bitter bugger!
Featuring 100% Minnesota-grown hops and 100% Minnesota-malted barley, this
Infuriatingly Passive-Aggressively hopped ale will provide your taste buds
plenty of Minnesota nice, while packing a punch stronger than the Halloween
Blizzard. A mélange of CTZ, Centennial, Chinook and Nugget hops lend a juicy
citrus, pungent resin and dankness to our Maroon & Bold IPA. Perfect for
locavores at the lake -- where the hops are strong, the pours are
good-looking and every bottle is well above average.
Cheers!
