DETAILS:
It is an honor for The Old Kitchen Rug Brewery to be hosting Michael Smith
for the SECOND time! I have been listening to Michael's songs ever since I
started listening to folk music. He is the author of such classics as "The
Dutchman" - a perennial favorite of Steve Goodman's, "Spoon River" -
masterfully recorded by Claudia Schmidt, and "Dead Egyptian Blues" - one of
my favorite Trout Fishing in America recordings. Mark Richardson does a
version of Michael's "Wonderful World of Sex", and I have been performing
"Vegamatic Song" for years without knowing that Michael wrote that one too!
Michael has been writing and singing since 1956. Originally from New
Jersey, Michael now resides in Chicago, where his autobiographical "Michael,
Margaret, Pat and Kate" stage play has garnered him four prestigious "Jeff"
awards (Chicago's equivalent of the Tony award.) This show will SELL OUT
FAST!
Please join us in our home to see Michael on Saturday, March 2, 2013 with
show time starting at 8pm.

Please note: This is a private party, in our private home. This party is NOT
a business nor is it a business related activity. It is simply a gathering
of our friends and guests to enjoy live music, fellowship, food (a potluck)
and fun. It is officially free (or else it might be considered a business),
although voluntary contributions (suggested donation of $15 per person) are
accepted on behalf of the artists. 100% of all contributions go directly to
the performers. By invitation only.
